6 hours
With my legs hobbled by a homemade spreader bar, I use a hot household iron flatten to crumpled pages from academic assignments, artist notebooks, and journal entries from 2004 - 2007, as well as other written artifacts from my past. I pin each warm pressed page to the surrounding walls creating a collage of my undergraduate ethos.
The paper tapestry is built by a female body performing what is often viewed as women’s work for six hours. I interact with viewers as they enter the space and read my words.
